I'm Small Town.

The city has been getting to me lately. Traffic, pollution, cranky people everywhere. Not to mention the extremely warm weather we've been getting. Then throw in the fact that we've been getting no rain at all. No rain storms, just dust storms every week! Blah!

I was raised in the city until I was 10 years old. From then on, my family and I lived in 2 different small towns in Arizona. When my husband and I got married, I moved here. We live in the busiest part of the city, close to downtown. I really miss living in a small town! So Monday when my husband got off work we went on a little one night trip to a nearby small town. And we went on a hike, you know, with actual trees and fresh air! It was beautiful!

Grassy meadows...

trees...

and creeks!

We came back yesterday afternoon to the cranky old city and I was a little sad. But to my surprise, as the evening came it actually cooled down to the mid 70's and rained! I watched the rain outside my office window...

Now this morning it's kind of cool and cloudy! It actually feels a bit like Fall weather.

I really wish we could have a little place in the country that we could escape to. But for now, I will try to find the beauty in where we live, I'm sure it's here somewhere, haha! :)

Which do you prefer? The big city or small towns?

  2. Love hiking! Can't wait to do it again. I have a love hate for both. Although I would love to live even more North than I do, like more secluded. More within the rolling hills of green scenery, I love that... However there are days I miss my first house in the city, like the energy of soo many different people living their lives whatever way they want, more uniqueness I guess. I agree with you too, finding the beauty in where we live, cause it's there... somewhere LOL

  3. That's great that you were able to get away and enjoy nature and greenery.

Having lived in the big city all my life, I always look forward to camping trip and being away from hustle and bustle. REcently we went to Mammoth and it was so beautiful. I can't believe that 5 hours away from L.A. exists a world so different and so breathtaking.
