I have been really working on kicking my 3-cups-of-coffee-a-day habit for the last few days. My goal is 1 cup of coffee per day which have been doing... but hopefully it gets easier! It's hard on days like this when it's cold and rainy.
I savored my 1 cup of coffee this morning.
Followed by a big mug of hot Cinnamon Calli herbal tea.
How much coffee do you drink each day? Have any tasty substitutes for coffee?
I feel for you, it's a hard habit to break. I've cut back dramatically, but still drink the equivalent of two cups a day. I cut back by using half decaf/half regular. If you can find a few herbal teas you like, and it sounds like you're a tea drinker too, that helps. Is it just me or is it the warmth you crave as much as the coffee? My sister recently gave me a sample of a tea that tastes like a mocha and it's completely caffeine free. I'll have to ask her where she got it and get back to you, but it was yummy-and this is from a huge coffee lover.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a single cup of coffee in my life. For more than 20 years I've been drinking yerba mate'. I brew a huge thermos full in the AM and it lasts the whole day. It does take a knack to get it just right, but there are instant alternatives to start with: http://bit.ly/teWFpz

When I was pregnant I would do half coffee half milk so that way if I had 2cups really it was 1. Haha. Right now with Breastfeeding I'm cutting caffeine and milk ;( but I still drink 3 sips a day just to feel like it will wake me up lol
ReplyDeleteI gave up coffee a few years ago. It was definitely hard at first, but now I don't even think about it. Right now my favorite substitute is hot chocolate, but in the summer it's lemonade! :o)
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to drink 13+ cups of coffee a day. Now he's down to one. If he can do it, I know you can!
Love that coaster!! I'm loving tea lately!!
